Pregnant woman eats local newspaper/英孕婦愛吃當地報紙 二月 21

A pregnant woman has told how she has developed a "bizarre craving" for eating her local newspaper.

Ann Curran, 35, of Dundee, munches her way through copies of the Dundee Evening Telegraph.

She says it is the only "only newsprint with the proper flavour" and that she "stashes shredded copies in her handbag for emergency snacks".

Ms Curran said: "I could be sitting in the bingo hall and I’ll start ripping out pages of the newspaper.

"All the people look at me going, ‘What is she doing?’. I tear the white bits off the edges of the pages and keep them in a bag so I can eat them while I’m shopping."

The Sunday Sun reports that she stocks up on copies of the paper during the week so she has enough to eat at the weekends.

She added: "If you shredded up lots of different bits of paper, I would know exactly which one was the Evening Telegraph.

"My pals keep papers for me but I have to buy a couple of extras to get me through the weekend." (Orange News)

Woman pulls two jeeps with her hair/陸女用頭髮拉動兩輛吉普車 二月 16

A slender Chinese woman managed to pull two jeeps with a combined weight of 4.5 tonnes with just her hair.

Xu Huijun, 43, who is just 5ft 2ins tall and weighs less than eight stone, performed the stunt in Dalian, Liaoning Province.

She said she had always been stronger than she looked, adding: "I used to carry two buckets of 100kg water home."

Xu explained how she became a performer after moving to Dalian city three years ago and finding work as an accountant for an acrobatic troupe.

"Each day I saw troupe members doing various numbers, and I also wanted to have a try," she said.

Yu Shunye, the troupe leader, encouraged her to try to pull vehicles with her hair and she started off with a 1.5 tonne car.

She has since built up her strength until she could pull the two jeeps – and plans to try to pull three for her next challenge.

"I’m worried that I might lose some hair," she joked. "But it’s a great feeling to move something so big when I am so small." (Orange News)

Woman has size 30L natural boobs which won’t stop growing/英女子30L天然巨乳 繼續在長大 二月 11

Top-heavy Rachel Aldana was once crowned the owner of Britain’s largest natural boobs — but they are STILL growing.

Petite Rachel, 24, who won the title in 2007 with her 30J chest, said her breasts have now ballooned to a whopping 30L.

She added: "I dread to think what they will become.

"Sometimes I feel like a walking pair of boobs. They are all anyone can see.

"I’m worried eventually I won’t be able to walk or even stand."

Currently Rachel only has the UK’s second biggest natural chest after 40M Donna Jones, 29, came forward in 2008.

But if Rachel’s boobs grow at their current rate, she will have her title back within two years.

The hairdresser, from Brackley, Northants, said her mum had a breast reduction from 30K to C. But Rachel is too scared to go under the knife — despite agonising back pain.

She said: "It’s torture having these monsters in front of me — the worst thing is they keep growing."

Rachel explained her boyfriend John, 40, is "really supportive", adding: "My breasts have never been an issue for him." (The Sun)

Teenage girl addicted to eating water bottles, CD cases and even TV remotes/少女嗜吃塑膠瓶、CD盒、甚至電視遙控器 二月 10

TLC show My Strange Addiction has shown us people addicted to everything from corn starch to sleeping with hairdryers. But the new series, which starts this weekend, promises its most bizarre subjects yet.

Season three features teenager Kailyn, who admits to being hooked on eating plastic.

The 18-year-old, from Sacramento, California, believes she has eaten over 60,000 plastic goods over the past 11 years, and will even choose it over food.

She is seen crunching on a variety of items in a trailer for the show, from water bottles to CD cases.

Listing some of the things she has eaten, Kailyn tells the camera: ‘I have eaten 12 remotes, over 5,000 beads, over 1,000 cocktail swords, 100 forks, about ten water bottles, two pacifiers, three CD cases, about 50 hangers, about 25 plastic lids on to-go cups…’

She admits: ‘Plastic is something I want and I feel like I need.’

When asked why she loves plastic so much, she explains that it is not the taste as much as the texture.

‘It’s the way it crunches and feels and it has a rough but at the same time smooth texture to it,’ she says.

The texture of a television remote control is probably one of her favourites, Kailyn reveals.

Describing how she goes about eating one, she says: ‘I’ll take a button off, and I’ll put it on each side of my mouth, then I swallow it.’

The plastic items she snacks on most frequently, though, are cocktail swords, which she finds in the restaurant where she works.

‘I’m a hostess at a restaurant and I get a lot of my plastic from there,’ she explains. ‘My favourite kind of plastics are the little cocktail swords that you get in your drink.

‘On a normal, non-stressful day, it’ll be a whole sword, 15 times a day.’

Kailyn admits her habit could be harmful to her health, adding: ‘The fact that I am eating this much in a week is huge.’

Kailyn is by no means the weirdest subject of My Strange Addiction this season. The series opens with Nathaniel, a man from Arkansas, who admits to being sexually attracted to his car. (Daily Mail)

Biggest baby ever born in China weighs in at 7.04kgs/逾7公斤 中國歷來最重的巨嬰 二月 08

A baby boy has been born weighing a whopping 15.52lbs (7.04kgs) in central China.

Chun Chun, who was delivered on Saturday, is possibly the country’s heaviest baby on record.

Mother and baby are both in good condition in a local hospital in Xinxiang city, Henan province.

The arrival was auspiciously timed, just after the start of the lunar new year, the Year of the Dragon.

His delighted father told local TV: ‘My wife was not different from other pregnant women. She ate and drank normally as she should. But she’s given birth to such a big, fat son.

‘Today is the first day of spring in the Chinese calendar and he’s a ‘dragon baby’. I feel very happy," his father Han Jingang told local broadcaster Xinxiang Television.

His 29-year-old mother, Wang Yujuan, said she had sensed something special.

‘I clearly felt that my body was more clumsy than when I had been pregnant with my daughter.

‘My belly was bigger than it was then. I guessed the baby would be between 4.5and 5kgs. I never expected to hear that he weighs 7kgs,’ she said.

The couple’s six-year-old daughter weighed just over 4kgs (8lbs) birth.

‘This baby is twice as heavy as a normal one,’ Shang Lili, head of the obsetrics department told Xinxiang TV.

Between 2008 and 2010, three babies weighing exactly 7kgs were born in China, and at the time jointly held the record for being the country’s heaviest babies.

At 7.04kgs, Chun Chun just tips the scales over the reported record in China.

The heaviest baby on record weighed 10.8kgs (23lbs) when born in Ohio in 1879, according to the official website of Guinness World Record, but died shortly after. (Mail Online)

Human hourglass: The Romanian model has just a 20-INCH waist/人肉沙漏:羅馬尼亞名模腰僅20吋 二月 05

A model with a waist of just 20 inches has insisted she eats three square meals a day, including fatty foods such as crisps, pizza and kebas.

30-year-old Ioana Spangenberg measures in at 5ft 6 inches tall, weighing six stone.

The model told The Sun: ‘No one seems to believe it, but every day i eat three big meals and I snack on chocolate and crisps all the time. I just have a small stomach. It’s a bit like a gastric band, if I eat too much I feel sick’.

Mrs Spangenberg was born a a very normal weight of seven pounds, and only saw her body transform into what it is now when she was a teenager.

When she was 13 she would get friends to put their hands completely around her 15in waist.

She says she has tried to fatten up, eating sweets like Mars bars to do so, but to no avail.

‘In Romania it is better to be overweight, because that means you are from a wealthy family.’

It was only in 2006 when she met her German husband Jan, that she says she finally became comfortable in her own skin.

He encouraged her to become a model after photographs he posted of her online received a fantastic reaction.

‘I would still like to gain weight so I don’t look so shocking. And now that I live in Germany I can’t get enough pizza or kebabs.’ (wrapup)

Amazing table tennis baby a smash hit/嬰兒打桌球影片爆紅 二月 04

A table tennis-playing baby has become a smashing success on YouTube after wowing viewers with ping pong skills way ahead of his young years.

Appearing in a video named ‘Jamie playing multiball’, wonderkid Jamie returns shot after shot while perched on the left hand side of the table.

He calmly swats the balls back at his dad and trainer, pausing only to regain his Zen-like composure.

On 44 seconds he displays a wholly unconventional backhand before gleefully launching into a series of powerful smashes aimed straight at his dad.

In fact so efficient is Jamie in his Forrest Gump-esque whiff waff skills that his dad has to refill the box of table tennis balls halfway through.

While most of the praise online has understandably been reserved for Jamie, one commenter on YouTube remarked on his father, saying ‘that is an awesome dad’.

Jamie’s dad may have his work out however in coaching him to greatness, however; since table tennis became an Olympic sport in 1988 Chinese athletes have dominated, winning 20 out of 24 gold medals available. (Metro)

Backwards-talking girl/ 3秒倒唸英文 美少女網路爆紅 二月 01

This young girl has become a YouTube sensation – by saying words the wrong way round.

Talented Alyssa grins shyly as her pal explains: "Anyone can say a word to her, and she can say it backwards within three seconds."

As her friends give her words like "Chevrolet," "fireworks," and "download" she effortlessly repeats them – but pronounces them from back to front.

So "gallon" is "nollag" and "corn nuts" is "stun nroc".

And while she takes a moment to turn "Lamborghini" into "Inihgrobmal" she’s soon back on form.

Amazingly, she reverses "kaleidoscope" to "epocsodielak" and "mayonnaise" to "esiannoyam" with barely a pause.

And even "Panama City Beach" is no problem for her, as she instantly replies: "Hcaeb ytic amanap". (wrapup)

School leader performs headstands across the globe to raise money for charity/英中學校長走遍全球 倒立為慈善募款 一月 19
  • Jon Smallwood has pulled off more than 5,000 blood-rushing stunts
  • Took up fundraising drive after suffering leukaemia three years ago

School leader Jon Smallwood brings a whole new meaning to the word head teacher – after performing more than 5,000 headstands around the world.

The 54-year-old deputy head has been pulling off the stunts to raise money for cancer charities after battling leukaemia three years ago.

He became hooked on headstands as a youngster and travels the globe performing his party trick in strange locations.

Over the past year, he has performed a headstand on a 30ft-high rock, the Orient Express and the Leaning Tower of Pisa – where he balanced at a matching angle.

The ‘Headstand King’, as he calls himself, has also performed the blood-rushing pose on the roof of his school, on a plane over Syria and on the checkout of a busy supermarket.

Jon, who works at Bredon School in Bushley, Gloucestershire, said: ‘I’ve always loved doing handstands and after recovering from leukaemia I decided I would put it to good use.

‘I decided I would only do a headstand if it is for money, which I will donate to charity.

‘Amazingly, people started daring me to pull headstands in stupid places with one person paying me £30 to do a headstand on a conveyor belt in a supermarket.’

Jon, of Dursley, Glos, normally performs headstands for fun and often stands on his head up to 50 times a day.

But he admits his 78-year-old mother told him off when he recently performed a headstand on the roof of his school.

The brave teacher, who was off work for five months with leukaemia, has now raised more than £2,000 for charity.

He plans to abseil down the front of Southampton Hospital in February before ending the stunt.

After that, he hopes to take pupils from Bredon School on a ten-mile walk across the Malvern Hills, where they’ll do ten headstands per mile.

He added: ‘All the kids at school know that I’ve had an illness. I try to show them that you don’t necessarily die from cancer.’ (Daily Mail)
