A rare two-faced kitten has been born in the US.
The special feline, called Deucy, surprised its owner when she first laid eyes on it.
Stephanie Durkee, from Oregon, did not initially believe her children when they told her they had found an odd-looking cat.
‘The kids actually found them and came in and said, “Mom there’s a kitty with two heads”, and I said I think you guys are just tired, you’re crazy, that doesn’t happen,’ she said.
After it became apparent Duecy’s mother would not accept her, Mrs Durkee decided to take care of the feline herself.
She is currently giving the newborn moggy, which has one body, milk formula via a syringe and keeps her warm by using a heating pad.
Duecy has been given the all clear by vets after being taken for a check-up but the kitten is not expected to live a full life.
Two-faced cats, which are known as Janus cats, are rare and do not normally make it into adulthood. (Sky News)
